Seller Information Letter
- Payments for goods sold on auction are done 7 working days after the conclusion of the auction. Payment is not made at any specific time of day — please do not expect a notification at 08h00. Payments are made during the course of the 7th working day.
- Goods can be delivered Mon–Wed 08h00–17h00, Thursdays 08h00–12h00 and Saturdays 08h00–14h00. No goods are received/off-loaded after Thursday 12h00 or on Fridays, without exception.
- During the auction you can watch your own lots under "My Selling Lots" — only the lots under your username. You may not bid on your own lots, nor ask a friend or family member to. If we suspect you are bidding on your own goods, we will no longer sell on your behalf.
- After the auction, view your results under "Menu" → "My Seller Payouts". The left column shows what the item reached; the right updates as we allocate payments and reflects the final payout after commission. Allocations can be done during the week.
- If your payout doesn't match the final amount on your seller sheet, it may be due to a refund — contact us during office hours to find out which item it was.
- Refunded items are relisted with an updated description once returned. As per the seller T&Cs you are responsible for costs incurred for a wrongful description.
- If your account is placed on hold due to an outstanding invoice, goods will also not be sold on your behalf.
- A 15% commission fee plus VAT on the commission is deducted from the selling price. Goods are sold non-reserve and cannot be withdrawn. Listed goods may be sold individually or as a job lot at our discretion.
- It is the seller's responsibility to test all goods and provide a true, accurate description and condition. Refunds due to incorrect description/condition carry a 15% admin fee on the selling amount, plus courier costs where applicable.
- Deals 4 Africa reserves the right to refuse goods that do not meet our listing standards or that may expose the company to risk.
Seller Tips
Bring quality items
Clean, working, complete items attract more bids and higher prices. Declare missing parts or faults clearly.
Clean & present goods
First impressions matter. Wipe items down, remove dust, and neatly package accessories.
Include all accessories
Remotes, cables, manuals, chargers, keys and attachments increase buyer confidence and final price.
Be honest about condition
Declare scratches, damage or faults upfront. Transparency builds trust and avoids disputes.
Popular items sell fast
Tools & power tools, generators, electronics, homeware, garden equipment and appliances do well.
Deliver before cut-off
Late deliveries may miss the upcoming auction. No goods Thursdays after 12h00 or Fridays.
Keep your account active
Outstanding or late payments can result in account deactivation.
Price expectations
Auction prices are set by market demand. Higher demand means a higher final selling price.
Rubbish belongs in the bin
Not on auction — please only bring items genuinely worth selling.
